We believe in the need for high-quality, hands-on practical CPD that is ready to be applied immediately in clinical practice – imagine solidifying your theory learning on positive pressure ventilation by having the opportunity to apply it minutes later to a real-life, carbon dioxide-expiring training model.

Meet our team
Karen Heskin
After qualifying from the University of Liverpool, Karen began her veterinary journey as a small animal GP. Earning her RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Orthopaedics led to over a decade in both human orthopaedic research and veterinary referrals. Transitioning to a Veterinary Technical Manager role, she shifted her focus to anaesthesia, ultimately earning an MSc in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia.
Karen is excited to collaborate with Keith Simpson (Clinical Director) to further develop Burtons Academy, bringing fresh innovations and sharing evidence-based anaesthesia knowledge with the veterinary community.
